DG CAPITAL (PTY) LTD - HEAD OFFICE
DG Capital was founded in 2003 by Neil Daitz together with Lior Goldstein as a niche financial advisory business, advising privately owned and listed businesses on mergers and acquisitions, as well as financial modelling, valuations and equity and debt capital raising.
Neil and Lior knew one another from their studies at the University of the Witwatersrand and stayed in contact with each other after going to Arthur Andersen and Credit Suisse First Boston respectively.
Based out of a small office in Oaklands, Johannesburg, the ‘DG’ duo soon gained credibility with several blue chip listed entities – many of whom are still clients to this day.
Josh Loots was introduced to Neil and Lior whilst working on an investment proposal after leaving Tiger Wheels Limited. Josh joined DG Capital in 2010 and was later appointed as the CEO, where he has been instrumental in driving DG Capital’s evolution from an advisory business to a diversified financial and services group.
As more client solutions and services were added, the business moved into an old Cape Dutch style house turned office in Pretoria Street, Oaklands to accommodate the additional staff complement. Each room housed a different division, which at that stage comprised of corporate finance, automotive incentives, trade finance, credit insurance and an import and distribution company.
Whilst a large portion of the business’s growth has been organic, in more recent years, strategic acquisitions aided by a strong balance sheet built up over years of reinvestment, have allowed DG Capital to increase its market share and enter into new markets. Notable acquisitions have been made in the incentives, forex, freight forwarding, logistics and trading spaces.
In 2016, the Thesele Group acquired a minority stake in DG Capital. This was an exciting new chapter for the business which brought with it renewed focus, energy, expertise and strategic direction.
The business moved to its new, more corporate and somewhat concealed head office in Birdhaven, Johannesburg in 2019.We currently also have presence in Port Elizabeth, Durban, Cape Town, Liverpool (UK) and Sydney (AUS).
DG Capital is still owned and managed by its original founders, together with management and minority stakeholders. We believe in long-term client relationships and hope to offer our clients personalised service driven by quality, expertise, reliability and integrity for many years to come.
