Overberg Agri (Pty) Ltd, with its administrative offices in Caledon, is an established player in key agricultural regions of the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape as well as Limpopo. Overberg Agri currently operates 19 retail stores, 15 grain depots and 5 convenience stores at central locations across these regions. overberg provide an extensive range of specialist retail products and services such as grain management services, agricultural resources and advice, manufacturing and marketing, precision agricultural equipment, irrigation solutions, citrus and grape packaging material and financing solutions.
Overberg Agri has its origins in two of the oldest farmers’ co-operatives in the Western Cape – the Caledon Boeren Co-operative (est. 1918) and Bredasdorp Boeren Co-operative Society (est. 1926). These co-operatives converted to companies during the late 1990’s which saw the establishment of Caledon-Riviersonderend Landbound Holdings Ltd. (CRK Landbound) in 1998 and Bredasdorp Napier Landbound Group (BNK Landbound) in 1997. In 2005 these two companies amalgamated to form Overberg Agri Limited.
On Wednesday the 2nd of May 2018, Overberg Agri Limited and Acorn Agri merged to form Acorn Agri & Food – a vertically integrated company with a presence throughout South Africa.
